Meet Rachel Wilson: Pilates, Yogalates and Movement Made for You

As 2026 comes to a close, we're taking time to celebrate the people who make Flow Physio + Wellness what it is. We asked each member of our team to reflect on the year: what they learned, what they're proud of and what they're working toward next.

This time, we're sitting down with Rachel Wilson, MScPT, RYT, RPYT — Registered Physiotherapist, Registered Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, yoga and perinatal yoga teacher, certified physiodoula and our newest certified Pilates instructor.

Something Rachel learned in 2026

Rachel spent part of this year stepping into a brand-new movement world.

"I took my Pilates teacher training through Pillar Pilates! I was nervous to enter the Pilates world, but I'm so glad I did. I've had so much fun using this new skill with my patients!"

Pilates fits naturally alongside physiotherapy. Its focus on controlled movement, breath and deep core strength complements the rehab work Rachel already does, especially for pelvic health and postpartum recovery.

Something she's proud of

"Professionally, I'm so proud of pushing myself out of my comfort zone to launch a new Yogalates class series for our clients. Seeing everyone build strength and move with confidence has been incredibly rewarding!"

Yogalates blends the mobility and breath work of yoga with the strength and control of Pilates. Rachel's class series gave clients a supportive small-group space to keep building on their progress outside of one-on-one appointments.

What she's looking forward to in 2027

"On a personal note, I'm excited for more outdoor adventures and active time with my boys. We're slowly becoming a 'road trip' family!"

Her goal for 2027

"I'm really looking forward to officially completing my Reformer Pilates Teacher Training and fully integrating reformer work into my clinical practice!"

The reformer adds adjustable spring resistance and support, which makes it a great tool for rehab. Movements can be scaled up or down to meet you exactly where you are.

What to know before your first appointment with Rachel

"I believe that movement is medicine, but it should also be approachable and tailored to you. Whether we're working 1-on-1 on orthopaedic or pelvic health goals, working on the Reformer, or incorporating strength work, my goal is to create an encouraging, realistic plan that helps you feel strong, confident, and supported."

About Rachel

Rachel completed her undergraduate degree in Neuroscience at the University of Toronto in 2007 with high distinction. During those studies, an injury sidelined her from the sports she loved, and she discovered physiotherapy as a patient. Her own recovery inspired her to complete her Master's in Physiotherapy in 2009.

Since then, Rachel has completed levels 1–3 of the Orthopaedic Division of the Physiotherapy Association. She is certified in Graston Technique and Functional Movement Screening, which help her assess and treat movement in athletes. She has a special passion for treating women across the lifespan — through pregnancy, postpartum, perimenopause and menopause — as a Registered Pelvic Health Physiotherapist.

When she's not in clinic, you'll usually find Rachel relaxing by the water, practising yoga, walking the family dog or chasing around her two very active little boys.
