As 2026 comes to a close, we're taking time to celebrate the people who make Flow Physio + Wellness what it is. We asked each member of our team to reflect on the year: what they learned, what they're proud of and what they're working toward next.
This time, we're sitting down with Emily Arsenault, RMT — Registered Massage Therapist, certified barre instructor and our go-to for buccal, intraoral and lymphatic drainage massage.
Something Emily learned in 2026
"This year, I added Brazilian lymphatic drainage massage to my practice! It's been exciting to learn a new technique and explore how it can fit into an individualized treatment plan."
The bigger lesson, though, went beyond technique.
"I've also been reminded that supporting our well-being isn't always about focusing on muscles. As an RMT, people often expect me to talk about stretching, tension, and the muscular system, but there's also value in laughter, connection, and doing things we enjoy. Sometimes, simply having fun can feel healing in itself. The mind and body are connected, and making room for joy can be an important part of caring for ourselves."
Something she's proud of
"I'm really proud of leading the Bowmanville Multiple Myeloma March this year! We raised over $6,000 for Myeloma Canada. Seeing our community come together to support people affected by multiple myeloma made it an incredibly meaningful experience."
What she's looking forward to in 2027
"I'm looking forward to another year with the Flow team and continuing to build relationships with my patients. I'm planning to complete my barre fitness recertification by the end of 2026 so I can begin teaching in 2027 and I'm also excited to reconnect with teaching and share my love of movement with others."
Her goals for 2027
"A professional goal is to keep expanding my knowledge and skills, particularly in areas that complement my interests in buccal massage and lymphatic drainage. Personally, I want to try wheel throwing!"
What to know before your first appointment with Emily
"Your treatment is a collaboration! Whether you're coming in for a specific concern or some time to unwind, I want you to feel comfortable sharing what you need. Feedback about pressure, comfort, and your preferences is always welcome so I can tailor your treatment to you."
Outside the treatment room
"You'll often find me spending time with my husband, Glen, and our friends, taking a Pillar Pilates or ballet class, or enjoying good food!"
About Emily
Emily is a Registered Massage Therapist with a client-focused approach, tailoring each treatment to meet individual needs. She studied massage therapy at the Canadian College of Massage and Hydrotherapy and the Ontario College of Health and Technology, giving her a strong foundation in therapeutic care. Always eager to keep learning, she has also completed additional training in rib mobilization.
Before becoming an RMT, Emily had a lifelong passion for movement and wellness. She grew up as a dancer and attended Centennial College's Dance Performance program, where she now serves as Chair of the advisory committee. Her dance background led her to certifications in barre fitness and pre/postnatal barre fitness. That movement-based perspective shapes her massage therapy, helping clients improve mobility and feel their best.
Outside the clinic, Emily is a coffee lover who stays active with Pilates and hot yoga. She believes in creating a welcoming, supportive environment where clients can relax, recover and work toward their wellness goals.
