Postnatal Physio-Led Strength Class

A postnatal physio-led strength class is a guided exercise program designed to help women safely recover and get strong after childbirth. Led by a Registered Physiotherapist, these classes focus on rebuilding core, pelvic floor, and overall strength through gradual, progressive exercises tailored to the postpartum body.

These classes emphasize proper technique and controlled progression, helping reduce the risk of injury and common postpartum concerns while supporting a safe return to daily activity and fitness. They combine rehabilitation and strength training, offering a structured and supportive path back to feeling strong and confident!

How To Join

  1. Do a postpartum Initial Assessment with one of our physiotherapists. If you have been a patient of one of our physios prior to postpartum, you may book a follow up appointment.

  2. Enrol for all 8 classes in the series.

  3. Prior to the class starting, you will be billed for the class series.

  4. Every week of class, the class amount will be taken from your account credit and you’ll receive an invoice to submit to your extended health provider.

  5. Class can be submitted under ‘Small Group Physiotherapy’ with the supervising class physiotherapist’s billing number.

Level I

Note: Please sign up for all classes within your series when registering

  • designed for mothers during the early postpartum phase (6+ weeks), focusing on rebuilding core strength, restoring pelvic floor function, and improving posture after pregnancy and birth

  • programmed and supervised by a pelvic health physiotherapist, Danielle Ufniak, and taught by Pregnancy & Postpartum Fitness Coach and Registered Massage Therapist Kristen Smith

  • guide you through finding your connection with your breathing, core muscles and pelvic floor muscles again and includes exercises that heal diastasis recti, strengthen key areas affected by motherhood, and teach proper bracing for lifting and everyday movements

  • meet with a supportive community of other mamas—many of whom will have their babies with them

Level II

Note: Please sign up for all classes within your series when registering

  • designed for mothers who have graduated from Level I or are further along in their postpartum journey (3+ months), focusing on improving upon the foundational fitness and conditioning we now have

  • programmed and supervised by a pelvic health physiotherapist, Danielle Ufniak, and taught by Pregnancy & Postpartum Fitness Coach and Registered Massage Therapist Kristen Smith

  • each session will include introducing high level and compound movements, an introduction to return to impact (jumping, running) and you will end being able to confidently attend any gym or fitness studio with health core and pelvic health strategies afterwards
